What we collect, why, and what we do not do with it.

This page describes what data VentureFrame ("we") collects from the people who use ventureframe.net ("you"), how we use it, and who else can see it. Written in plain English, not lawyer-speak.

What we collect

When you visit the marketing site: anonymous visit analytics (page views, referrer, browser type) via Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, plus, only if you click Accept on the cookie banner, the Meta Pixel, which tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) which pages were visited so we can measure and target our ads. It never loads if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. No personally identifying information unless you fill out a form or use the assistant.

When you use the Growth Assistant (the AI chat in the corner of the site): nothing is saved until you click Start chat. After that we save your messages and the assistant's replies, the page you were on, the time you agreed to the notice, a random ID stored in your browser, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address used only to stop abuse. If you are signed in, the chat is linked to your account. If you ask to reach a person, we also keep the email address you give us.

When a consultant or agency uses the dashboard assistant (the AI chat on the agency dashboard): nothing is saved until they click Start. After that we save their messages, the assistant's replies, the tasks it offered and whether they ran them, linked to their account. To answer, the assistant reads that consultant's own client records (intake answers, diagnostics, session notes and the consultant's notes), and the parts needed for a reply are sent to our AI provider. It only ever sees the signed-in consultant's own clients, it never sends or changes anything unless the consultant clicks to confirm, and the conversation is never shown to their clients.

When you share a screenshot with the assistant: it only happens when you click to capture, upload or paste one, and your browser asks you first. The image is sent to our AI provider to answer that message and is not saved by us. Please do not share other people's private information in a screenshot.

When you turn on daily task emails: your email address, your time zone, and the three tasks written for you each day, including which ones you tick off. The emails are opt-in and every one has a one-click unsubscribe link.

When you connect QuickBooks Online: the connection is read-only and you approve it on Intuit's own sign-in page. We store the access keys Intuit gives us, encrypted, plus your company name and summary figures from your profit and loss, balance sheet and receivables aging reports. We never see your QuickBooks password and we cannot change anything in QuickBooks.

When you start an intake: the business name and industry you type, the answers you give, and a browser-scoped anonymous session token. No email or account yet.

When you unlock your analysis: the email address you enter. That creates a VentureFrame account tied to that email.

When you pay: Stripe handles the transaction. We receive a confirmation event with your email and the tier you bought. We never see or store your card number.

When you sign in later: a session token (JWT from Supabase Auth) is stored in your browser's local storage. That's how you stay signed in across visits.

What we do with it

Your intake and diagnostic content is used to generate your analysis and to save it to your account so you can come back to it. VentureFrame does not train or fine-tune any AI model on it. It is sent to Anthropic's Claude to write your analysis, and Anthropic's privacy policy applies to how Anthropic handles it. It is not shared with advertisers. It is not sold.

Assistant chats, daily tasks and QuickBooks figures are used for one thing: to answer you and write your tasks. Jake (the operator) can read assistant chats to answer questions you send him, to fix problems and to improve the assistant. They are not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used to build anyone else's report. QuickBooks data is used only inside your own account.

The assistant is AI. It can be wrong, and it does not give legal, tax, accounting, investment, lending or credit advice.

Aggregate, anonymized usage patterns (e.g. "how many diagnostics ran this month, average generation time") are used internally to run the business.

Who else can see your data

• Anthropic, the underlying language model provider. Your intake answers, assistant messages, screenshots you choose to share and, if connected, your QuickBooks summary figures are sent to Claude to generate answers. Anthropic's data policy applies (see their privacy policy).
• Supabase, where your account and analyses are stored (Postgres, US region, row-level security keyed to your account).
• Cloudflare, routes traffic to and from the engine.
• Stripe, processes payments. They see billing details; we see only the confirmation.
• Netlify, hosts the static marketing site and the app front-end.
• Resend, sends our emails, including daily task emails if you turn them on.
• Intuit, only if you connect QuickBooks Online. Intuit's own privacy policy applies to your QuickBooks account.
• Meta, through the Meta Pixel on the marketing site, for ad measurement and targeting. It does not receive your intake answers, chats or QuickBooks data.
• Operator backup, when a client finishes an intake, a notification is emailed to the VentureFrame operator so the lead is not missed. That notification contains the client name, business, email and how many questions were answered. It does not contain the answers themselves. The full intake is stored only in the database described above.

We do not share your data with any other third party. We have never received a law enforcement request; if we ever do, we will comply only with a valid legal order and will notify you if we are permitted to do so.

Cookies and local storage

The marketing site uses one first-party analytics cookie (via a same-origin proxy to Google Analytics, the tracker never sees your IP directly) and one Microsoft Clarity session recording cookie for UX research. Neither is used for ad targeting. If you accept on the cookie banner, the Meta Pixel sets cookies that Meta uses for ad measurement and targeting. Choose Essential only and it never loads. You can limit this in your Meta ad settings or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.

The Growth Assistant keeps a random visitor ID, your current chat ID and a "seen before" flag in your browser's local storage so a conversation survives a page change.

The app uses browser local storage to keep your session token and any in-progress intake between visits. Clearing your browser data will sign you out and drop any unfinished intake.

How long we keep it

Assistant chats from people who never signed in are deleted automatically 180 days after the last message. Chats linked to an account, daily tasks and account data are kept while the account is open and deleted when you ask us to delete the account. Disconnecting QuickBooks deletes the stored access keys and the saved figures right away.

Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@ventureframe.net. We'll process the deletion within 7 days and confirm by return email. Paid diagnostics that were part of your account will be permanently removed.

If you're in the EU/UK, you have GDPR rights (access, correction, deletion, portability). Same email address. Same response window.

Children

VentureFrame is a B2B product for business owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, email us and we'll delete it immediately.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we collect or use data, we update this page and notify active account holders by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
